MCNALLY 12TH IN V8 UTES RACE 2 AT BATHURST
11 October 2008
Glen McNally drove an exceptional race in the V8 Utes today to finish in 12th after starting form position 20.
In his first outing to the ‘mountain’ Glenn has been on a steep learning curve, cutting seconds from his lap times each time he hits the track.
“I am becoming a lot more confident with the circuit and am definitely coming to grips with the way it needs to be raced,” Glenn said.
“I am closing the gap to the front guys and almost latched onto the back of them in that race.”
Glenn benefited from a few DNF’s as well as passing a number of competitors on the track to give him his best result of the meeting.
Tomorrow morning’s final race will have Glenn starting from grid 14 as a result of accumulated points.
“I am starting right behind Grant Johnson (Glenn’s stable-mate) in tomorrow’s race and hopefully I can follow him through to a top-ten finish.”
“Missing the top 16 in race 1 hurt but I am going to give it my best shot and see where it ends up.”
Tomorrow’s race is at 7.50am.
